The Western Wayne Family Health Center, in Inkster, is a community-oriented, federally-qualified health center committed to creative ways of providing comprehensive health care and wellness services.  Western Wayne provides high quality primary care, priced to be affordable based on the family’s income and ability to pay.

The health center includes board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.  While specializing in primary care services, Western Wayne also has a community health orientation through health promotion, disease prevention, and educational outreach activities. Services include immunizations, routine health exams, women’s health care and family planning services, prenatal care, sick child visits, sports/camp/work physicals, health education, preventive dental care, and chronic disease management.

Services are patient-centered, with providers offering patients information they need not only for disease treatment, but to lead a healthy life, with personal education regarding good health habits and help meeting health care goals.

Western Wayne offers an innovative Women Infants and Children program, providing a “medical home” experience while administering vouchers. This ensures proper prenatal care and introduces many women and children to comprehensive health care. Also, discount drug prescriptions are available for health center patients – including a delivery service for those who can’t come to the health center.

The health center is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Western Wayne devotes Friday afternoons for special community health programs, like sports physicals for students and immunizations.

Although based in Inkster, Western Wayne serves Romulus and Taylor. The health center is a federally-qualified health center recognized by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget as one of the 10 most successful federal programs, in terms of cost effectiveness and patient care, in the Department of Health and Human Services. As a result of this high performance, Western Wayne’s patients are 22 percent less likely to require hospitalization.

Western Wayne accepts Medicaid, MI Child, HMO coverage (with assignment), Medicare ($100 deductible waived), and a sliding fee scale discount program. Call 734-727-7100 for more information.
